Water park minutes away
A Water Park located in Lower Huron Metro Park opened May 24th. Known as ”Turtle Cove”, it is located about 20 miles south on Haggerty at Haggerty and Savage Roads in Belleville.
This $9.4 million facility will feature 5 acreas fun just 15 or 20 minutes from your front door! It will have two waterslides, an activity pool, a lazy river and a water spray area. The shallow section of the pool will have a zero depth entry and water play features, such as ground sprays for children: the deeper end will have a lap swimming area. Slides, sprays and a dumping bucket of water will be the focal point of the waterspray area. There will be a Food Bar and changing/restroom facilities. “Turtle Cove” will accommodate up to 1,400 people with parking for 500 cars.
A $20 annual pass (reciprical at 13 Metro Parks in the area) or $4 day pass may be purchased at the entrance kiosk. The charge for “Turtle Cove” will be $8 for those 48″ and taller , $5 for those shorter than 48″. you may call 734-697-9181 or 1-800-477-3182 or log onto www.metroparks.com for more information.

Thanks to all who attended and helped with our annual creek clean-up in the south park. Thanks to Larry Willhelm for organizing the event again! It was a great chance to teach children about preserving nature, helping neighbors, and enjoying the local outdoors. You can view photos from the event by clicking on the link in thr right hand column of this page labled “Brookside Photo Gallery”. Missed this year’s clean-up? We can always use volunteers to keep our creek and parks trash-free. Your help throughout the year is appreciated! We will also inform you of our next organized group clean-up in the future.
