This year’s annual Brookside Village Homeowners Meeting will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017, in the Township Building, 1150 S. Canton Center Road. Assembly will take place at 6:30 p.m.,  Lower Level. Homeowners are encouraged to attend.

The homeowners meeting is an ideal time to meet current board members, ask questions about becoming a board member or volunteering to help; voice your opinion on such matters as dues, ordinances, or restrictions regarding your property; offer suggestions; or ask any questions you may have regarding YOUR neighborhood—the Brookside Village Subdivison. Please join us—we’d love to meet you!

To those with OUTDOOR PETS June 10, 2016

It is a Canton Ordinance that you must have control of your pet(s) at all times. For the safety of your pet AND our residents, that means not letting your animals roam onto other people’s property, and having your dog on a leash when you go for a walk. PLEASE clean up after your pets as you go. To most of us, this seems like common sense, but Canton Twp. Ordinance officers have had many complaints of dog owners not following through on these requirements, and there is a hefty fine for violators. To report a problem, call the Canton Ordinance Officer for our area, Kay Longton, at (734) 394-5210. Residents really DO appreciate your efforts to do the right thing. Thank you for your consideration!

Tentative plans are to gather at the South Park bridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, to help clean up tree debris and trash. Please bring garden tools such as clippers, rakes, or shovels to help with the cleanup. Along with keeping our parks clean, we need to pick up the garbage and clear out the branches along the creek to prevent flooding and to allow the water to flow through without obstruction. Your help through-out the year in keeping our creek and parks clean is very much appreciated!

Earlier this month, a Georgetown Street resident looked out their front window just in time to see a young woman allowing her small, white dog do his business on their front lawn. The dog owner guiltily looked at the house and then walked away without cleaning up after the dog. This is simply not acceptable! Canton Twp. Ordinance officers CAN fine residents for this violation. The Canton Ordinance Officer for our area is Kay Longton and she can be reached at (734) 394-5210. Let’s all respect our neighbor’s property and do the right thing!

OUR SUBDIVISION’S SPEED LIMIT IS 25 MPH.
Most recently, a resident along Scottsdale witnessed a driver that had to slam on the brakes in front of a bus stop because they were going way too fast and not paying attention. Rightfully so, that resident called the Canton Police to complain. There is NO excuse for speeding. PLEASE, PLEASE, EVERYONE, SLOW DOWN! We can ALL do our part to keep our neighborhood a safe place to live!

Please gather at the South Park creek at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 14, to help clean up tree debris and trash. Please bring garden tools such as rakes to help with the cleanup. Along with keeping our parks clean, we need to pick up the garbage and clear out the branches along the creek so that the water can flow through without obstruction. This is not part of our lawn care contract, so your help throughout the year in keeping our creek and parks clean is very much appreciated!

As a homeowner association, the BVHA does not sanction fireworks activities. Please do not bring your fireworks into the subdivision parks. If you do choose to enjoy a few fireworks at your home, please be considerate of your neighbors: monitor your noise at late hours and please clean up any debris afterward. Please be mindful of fireworks that leave the ground—
if one of these lands on a house, it could very easily start a fire.

Visit http://www.FireworksSafety.org for fireworks safety tips.

If you own a fire pit, please be conscious of the wind direction and whether the smoke from your fire might bother your neighbors.

We truly hope every one of our residents enjoys SAFE and FUN-filled summer celebrations!

As you may have noticed, each entry and park sign in Brookside Village subdivision has a small garden around it. Maintenance of these “mini gardens” is not in our lawn care contract… so we’re looking for volunteers! Please call 734-448-1312, leave your name, number, and best time to call, and request that the BVHA President call you back to discuss the details of adopting a Brookside Village sign garden!
